Our fishing expedition in Nepal was exceptionally well organized from start to finish. At every stage of the trip, we felt fully taken care of, which allowed us to focus entirely on enjoying the experience. The team accompanying us was incredibly dedicated and genuinely committed to making the whole expedition a success. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and positive attitude made a huge difference throughout the journey. They are not only highly skilled but also wonderful people to spend time with. We wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a well-managed and memorable adventure.

Rafting at Bhote Koshi with Nepal River Runner was one of the best decisions of our Nepal trip. From the very beginning, their team was helpful, responsive, and provided us with all the information we needed even before we arrived, which made planning easy and stress-free. The entire experience was professionally managed from start to finish. Safety instructions were clear, the equipment was good, and the team made us feel confident throughout the trip. The rafting itself was an absolute thrill—exciting rapids, stunning scenery, and an unforgettable adventure. A special mention to our guide, who was knowledgeable, friendly, and explained the technical aspects of rafting in a simple and interesting way. It made the experience even more enjoyable and gave us a better appreciation of the sport. Highly recommend Nepal River Runner to anyone looking for a safe, well-organized, and exciting rafting experience in Nepal. We would definitely choose them again.

Our adventure started the moment we arrived in Nepal – and from the very beginning, we knew this wouldn’t be an ordinary trip. Everything was handled at a premium level already during the booking stage. Rajesh from the office took great care of us before we even arrived – quick responses, great communication, everything perfectly organized. Just a few days before departure, our flight got cancelled due to the situation in the Middle East… and what happened? No problem at all. The date was changed without any issues, despite the deposit already being paid. This is exactly how customer service should look everywhere. I went on this trip with a friend, and to be clear – we are not professional anglers. We’re more the type who go fishing from time to time on trips. Which makes this experience even more impressive. Then the real adventure began – 12 days of rafting and fishing on the Seti Karnali River. And this is important: this is not just any river. This is where you fish for the legendary Golden Mahseer – one of the hardest freshwater fish to catch in the world. Strong, fast, and incredibly challenging. Thanks to the team, even with our limited experience, we managed to catch several fish – in my case 5, including one really big one. Rafting? Absolutely amazing. But at the same time – very safe. These guys are true professionals, you can see they’ve spent years on this river. We had our own raft (from which we often fished), a second support raft, and a safety kayaker constantly watching over everything. Even in more challenging sections, we felt completely safe. The camp setup was also excellent. Comfortable tents set up every day, constant access to clean water, and even a toilet tent that was honestly very comfortable (anyone who has done this kind of trip knows how important that is 😄). And the food… this was on another level. Not just breakfasts – every single meal was outstanding. Breakfasts were great, but lunches and dinners were next level: a mix of amazing Nepali dishes and European classics like BBQ chicken, spaghetti, and even pizza… all in the middle of the wilderness, cooked over a fire. The taste? Honestly like a very good 5-star hotel. The team was incredible: * Nirajan (“Niro”) – the leader of everything, calm, professional, always in control * Saroj – a smiling “surfer-type” guy with an amazing sense of humor and cooking skills at a Sheraton or even Michelin-star level * Rabin – a young guy who could handle absolutely everything. Villages, fishing spots, logistics – a real problem solver * Kasam Rai (Maila) – one of the most positive people I’ve ever met. Always smiling, always helpful, always full of good energy And the best part? This was not just “service”. We genuinely became friends with these guys. Campfires every evening, conversations, laughter – those are the moments that stay with you. But this trip is not only about fishing. Nepal itself is something truly special – wild, untouched nature, silence, no crowds, and at the same time contact with local culture and real life. It gives you a true sense of adventure. And to finish it all – an unforgettable night out together in Kathmandu. The perfect ending to an incredible journey. This is not just a fishing trip. This is a life experience. Without a doubt – one of the best trips of my life. Highly recommended.

Hello Nepal River Runner team, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the incredible Tamur expedition in November 2025! I felt absolutely safe with you all during the entire trek and the rafting on the water. The food was exceptional, and the approach of every single one of you was not only incredibly professional but also very humane. I am taking away memories that will last a lifetime. A special thanks goes to my guide in the raft, Nirajan Rajamajhee, and also to Kasam Wambule Rai, who was always extremely helpful and friendly. I wish you all the best, success in your endeavours, and many satisfied clients – at least as satisfied as I was! Thanks once again for everything. Best regards, Anna.1.

I had an amazing 4 day beginner course with Nepal River Runner. The teaching was excellent and every safety precaution was taken. Being a beginner at something so challenging is not easy so I really valued the warmth and support of the instructors. Basically, kayaking takes you out of your comfort zone and you just need to commit and go for it, not worrying when it goes wrong, as there’s such a buzz from all the many things that go right. I will be back for more 😊 🛶

I joined an 8-day solo private rafting trip on the Sun Koshi River after a tour I had booked with another company was canceled. This operator immediately stepped in, was very flexible, and arranged a private schedule just for me. The river was incredible — I enjoyed 4–5 big rapids every day, the kind you can’t experience in Japan. In safe sections, they even let me paddle a kayak, which made the adventure feel even more special. All the guides were extremely professional, friendly, and attentive. They shifted naturally between being skilled outdoor guides, thoughtful hosts, and sometimes even like old friends around the camp. It became an unforgettable solo adventure, and I’m already thinking about returning next year — hopefully with the same amazing team.

I had a fun and professional half-day rafting on the Bhotekoshi, a few hours from Kathmandu. The trip was lots of fun, we had all the safety equipment and 4 safety kayaks for a single raft, the guide had experience from Japan and other countries, I felt in very good hands!

Unforgettable 8-Day Solo Rafting Adventure on the Sun Koshi River My regular group tour was canceled, but the company kindly arranged a private 8-day trip on the Sun Koshi River — just for me. They were amazingly flexible with the schedule and customized everything to fit my timing and preferences. The river was incredible — full of big, exciting rapids that you could never experience in Japan. Every single day, I ran at least four or five thrilling rapids, each offering something new and unique. In safe sections, they even let me paddle a kayak myself, which made the experience even more personal and unforgettable. The guides were outstanding — professional, attentive, and always thoughtful. Even though I was traveling alone, I never felt lonely. They switched roles perfectly: sometimes acting as expert outdoor guides, sometimes as kind concierges, and sometimes as old friends sharing stories and laughter by the river. Each of the five guides had a distinct and charming personality. Rabin, the sub-leader, kept the atmosphere light and joyful throughout the trip, always checking in and taking care of the details. His cooking was delicious — exactly to my taste. Nirajan, our leader, has guided many long expeditions before, and it truly showed. His calm confidence and warm leadership in every situation were inspiring. We had great talks during the mornings and evenings, and I’m sure we’ll stay in touch for a long time. It was an unforgettable solo adventure with an incredible team. I’m already thinking of coming back next year — and when I do, I’ll definitely request the same crew again.

Bhotekoshi white water kayaking I did the 5 day kayaking clinic on the Bhotekoshi river and it was an amazing experience. It was my first time white water kayaking and Bikram and Malai were so knowledgeable and patient teaching me the ropes. We started out in the pool where they taught me the basics and safety procedures before bringing me out in the river. We kayaked up to class three rapids on the river which was so much fun! I felt very comfortable and safe with Bikram and Malai as they guided me down the river. If you are looking to learn white water kayaking in Nepal I highly recommend going with them. They are VERY experienced and cater the trip to what you need. On top of that Malai cooked all the meals during the trip, and he might be the best chef in Nepal. The food was amazing and we stayed right by the river which was beautiful and peaceful. If you decide to try kayaking you must go with Bikram and malai. Thank you for a great trip!

Epic adventure with the funnest guides! Nepal river runners are the best!!! Two friends and I did the sunkoshi 8 day river expedition and we had the time of our lives. The guides are the absolute best. They make the trip worth it. They work so hard to provide delicious food, comfortable sleeping, HUGE campfires and millions of laughs. These boys have become my close friends. I am so grateful to have got to experience the essence of Nepal with this team. Everyone was very dedicated to making our trip special. The only bummer is that after the flooding a lot of the rapids are gone on the sunkoski. So if you are looking for class 3/4 rapids maybe pick a different river with this company. I can’t express how much fun I had, how professional everyone was and how many smiles were shared. Oooh also they take amazing photos and videos of the trip and teach you all the Nepali songs and dances. Besides rafting and kayaking we also played some soccer, drank rakshi, played cards, went to a waterfall, did yoga and visited a temple. Chaahaanthe juni juni bharilaai ;) All my love boys 🫶

FAQs

Yes, rafting and kayaking with the Nepal River Runner are very safe. Your safety is our first priority. We use high-quality international-standard equipment, have a team of experienced, certified river guides, and follow strict safety protocols on every trip. Furthermore, before you get on the water, we give a full safety briefing and practice essential commands so you feel confident and prepared.

No, you do not need strong swimming skills to join our beginner and family-friendly rafting trips like Lower Bhotekoshi, Trishuli and Seti (Grade II-III). We provide certified life jackets and helmets, and our experienced guides give a full safety briefing before the trip. We also choose rivers and sections that are suitable for first-time rafters and non-swimmers.

For advanced kayaking courses and high-volume white-water expeditions, such as the Sun Koshi, Tamur, Karnali, and Marsyangdi, we recommend that you are comfortable in the water and have some prior rafting or swimming experience, so we can keep the trip safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Most of our trips are designed for ordinary, active people with no previous rafting experience. If you have no serious medical conditions, you can raft with us. We match rivers and rapids to your experience level, from easy, family-friendly runs to more challenging white-water for adventure seekers.

Kids aged 8 and above can join family-friendly rivers alongside an adult. For high-volume Class IV-V trips, paddlers must be at least 14 to 16 years old depending on water flow. We have no upper age limit for healthy adults. As long as you are mobile and fit, you are welcome aboard. That said, share any medical history with us ahead of time so we can choose the safest section for you.

We run rafting and kayaking trips on several of Nepal’s rivers, including Trishuli, Lower Bhote Koshi, Seti, Sun Koshi, Balephi, Tamur, and others. Each river offers a different experience, with rapids ranging from gentle Class II–III sections that are ideal for beginners and families to more challenging Class IV–V rapids for experienced rafters.

If you’re not sure which river is right for you, our team will recommend the best option based on your rafting experience, fitness level, available time, and the type of adventure you’re looking for.

Our rafting and kayaking packages typically include round-trip transport from the meeting point to the river, professional guides, all rafting equipment (boats, kayaks, helmets, paddles, PFDs, dry bags, and Pelican boxes), safety gear, and river permits. For day trips, meals are provided as mentioned in the itinerary. For multi-day expeditions, the package also includes camping equipment, accommodation in camps, and all meals throughout the trip. Each trip has its own inclusions and exclusions, which are clearly listed before booking so you know exactly what is covered.

For a day rafting trip, wear quick-drying clothes, secure sandals or river shoes, and avoid cotton. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses with a strap, a reusable water bottle, a small towel, and dry clothes for after the trip.

For a multi-day river expedition, bring everything you would for a day trip, plus extra quick-dry clothing, warm layers, toiletries, a headlamp, personal medications, a power bank, and comfortable camp shoes. We provide all rafting equipment, safety gear, camping equipment, and meals, so you don’t have to pack those.

Yes, we offer photos and videos of the trip. Our team captures photos and short videos so you can remember your adventure. The best part is that these are included in the trip price whenever the service is available.

The main rafting seasons in Nepal are from September to early December and from March to early June, when river levels and weather conditions are ideal. During these months, you can expect warm days, good water flows, and reliable trips. Some rivers may be possible outside these windows, but we always check conditions carefully and advise you on the safest and most enjoyable options.

You can book by contacting us directly through our website, email, phone, or by visiting our office. Once we confirm your dates and availability, we’ll guide you through the payment process and any necessary details. For peak seasons and weekends, we recommend booking at least a few days to a couple of weeks in advance, especially for groups or multi-day expeditions, to secure your preferred dates.

If you cancel your booking, the booking deposit (30% of the total trip amount) is non-refundable. The cancellation date will be the day we receive your written cancellation request. Once your trip has started, no refunds will be provided for unused services, including transport, accommodation, meals, sightseeing, or other trip inclusions. For complete details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions page.

Fixed Departure

Note: These are our fixed departure but you can also fix the date on your own from our booking form.
